I was going to call this post 'An Insider's Guide to FREE Cocktails' but I'm obsessed with pop-up bars so I went with this instead. There's still a tip or two here on events this year where you can acquire a cocktail on the house. ;)
I'm not sure I like anything more than enjoying a cocktail somewhere unexpected or different. A Gosling's dark & stormy on the beach or a workshop set up at the Botanic Park (we did this last year with the Botanist Gin!). We all love going to new bars or restaurants to scope them out and hang out somewhere new - what if our bars were constantly changing into new exciting experiences?! YES!
This year during October we're featuring a few pop-up bars that might tickle your fancy, starting with one as early as NEXT WEEK (Hurricane dependent obviously!). Our first is a little event we've held for the last 2 years at Carey's Karma Closet in Buckingham Place and involves 2 of my favourite things, cocktails and shopping. I'm thinking we're going to make something refreshing and fun this year like Cointreau Fizzes! I have some amazing Cointreau glassware and we'll bring a ton of cool garnishes. Carey also gives a discount to anyone buying anything during the event AND there's usually some awesome nibbles too.
During cocktail week itself we actually have 2 completely different pop-up bar happy hours. One is the brand new Mise En Place 'Cayman Cocktail Cart' that will be celebrating it's debut at Baraud's swanky new offices in town. There will be $10 cocktails and music, and anyone is invited to join them at Baraud in Elgin Court. The cart is a mobile cocktail bar that can be booked out for your parties and offices and comes with your very own mixologist to keep your drinks flowing.
Last but not least is our tiki-style pop-up at Books & Books in Camana Bay on Saturday 22nd October from 5pm to 7pm! Sip on some of our complimentary Appleton tiki cocktails while you browse the store. I'm a bit of a sucker for a good book store and always end up taking home more than I planned. At least I'll be getting some delightful cocktails thrown in!
